The Students from Shwe Tha Zin Learning Center

Weestablished to open this Shwe Tha Zin Learning Center at 22, January, 2009 in Mae Taung Mai village near the Far Dane Village. There were 111 students who come from field and stack around the Fardane and Mae Taung Mai Village to our learning center. However some children were 14 years old, they haven’t attended to the school. There were 7 kinds of subject of Mathematic, Burmese, History, English, Thai, Geography and Science and also there were 5 levels of Grade (1) to Grade (5) in our Learning Center. There were 7 teachers in learning center.


We initiated this school at 22, November, 2008 in Khan Phi Ban village with 23 students. Those students were Nargis Cyclone Victims who come from affected area of Burma after cyclone. First time, we aimed this school for the children of Nargis Cyclone Victims but there were many migrant children who come to attend to the school. Therefore we misrepresented this school as migrant Learning center. And then, we stimulated this migrant learning center to Mae Taung Mai village that area have no migrant school and then it is far 7 kilos from Mae sot. And also there are so many children who haven’t attend to school around that area. However, there were so many remaining children around the Mae Taung Mai and Mae Ku Village. They would like to go to school but we can’t do for transportation for them because we have no funds more to give to transporter and also we have no enough school building to keep them. But the students are coming more the day by the day because of there are many Burmese migrant workers who are working in the factories around the learning center and there are no migrant school around that area. So, our learning center is very imperative for education of migrant kids. As, we have so many tribulations to run the learning center continuous. Now, we are thinking about the problems of learning center in coming ringing season. The students will not attend to school when there are ringing because the floor of School building is very lowest than other place. And also our learning center have no wall and toilet for students and then no desk and table, stationery. There are so many needed for our learning center. Therefore, please kindly consider on our Appeal basing on the future of children to make a serious request for help to catch some assistances for Learning Center. Thank you so much.

“Background of Learning Center”

The monk who is the leader of the monks in cooperation of September demonstration, 2007. He is 36 years old and his age of monk is 16 years old. He come out to Border of Thai- Myanmar after protection because of the government of Burma are following him to seize every monks who cooperated in September demonstration, 2007. AWU prearranged to take rest for him when he arrived to AWU from Mae Sot.
There were the Nargis cyclone, could run 150 miles in one hour, blew by crossing along the Rangoon, Irrawaddy division ,Pago division, Mon state, and Karen state coming from the sea of Bangala at May, 3, 2008 . So there were about 3.hundrade thousands people were death in the Cyclone while he is living in AWU. Therefore, AWU assisted 104 nargis cyclone victims in 6 months by opening saving house for emergency living and eating, security and finding job of Nargis Cyclone victims who come from affected area in Burma to Thai to find out job after cyclone. The children of Nargis cyclone Victims were teach by Monk with other volunteer teachers by opening small school in Khan Phi Ban village after did the meeting with the leaders of AWU. And also AWU supported needed stationery, uniform and transportation for the students by requesting from Other Donors. After 3 months there were many students came to the school but the school is very small to keep them. So that, we moved this school to Mae Taung Mai basing on invitation of some villagers for that area have no migrant school and then there are many migrant children. Right now, there are 111 students in our learning center
